Three ingredients and a blender are all you need to make this refreshing mango ice cream recipe. The simplicity of homemade nice cream makes it an excellent option for a healthy treat you can feel good about serving.
To begin, you’re going to need frozen mango.. Though you can dice and freeze your own, I always find it easier to purchase the frozen mango chunks at the grocery store because they are picked at the peak of ripeness and already chopped up.
Add the frozen mango, banana, and lime juice to your blender or food processor.
Either fresh or frozen bananas can be used, but I prefer to use fresh ones because they make for an easy blending texture. Frozen mango plus frozen bananas can be a bit harder to process.
Start blender or food processor on low and gradually increase speed until desired consistency. I use the tamper with my blender to help keep things moving nice and smooth.
The consistency will be similar to soft-serve ice cream, and if you want it to be more scoopable, simply pour the pureed fruit mixture into a bowl and freeze for about an hour before scooping.

Detailed instructions, in-process photos, and my personal helpful tips can be found in the article above.Tips for making healthy mango ice cream
Sweetener- There is no need to add refined sugar, agave, or any other sweetener to nice cream because the banana and other fruit naturally sweeten it.
Mangos- The mangos MUST be frozen in order to make this recipe. Otherwise, you’ll simply have a mango smoothie.
Bananas- I like to use fresh overripe bananas instead of frozen ones to make this ice cream easier to blend. If using frozen bananas, you’ll likely need to stop and stir a few times during the blending process.
Scoopable- To make this scoopable, simply place it in the freezer for an hour before serving.
