Everyone has heard of black bean burgers, so now we need to talk about these Vegan Black Bean Chipotle Patties and how they are a little different. Made with black beans, whole oats, red bell peppers, onions, and spices, these patties are a delicious addition to any meal!
In large bowl, mash black beans with a potato masher.
Dice onion and red pepper. Mince chipotle pepper if using.
Add all ingredients to bowl with black beans.
Mix thoroughly. I use my hands to knead them well.
Form into patties. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
Drizzle with your favorite sauce. My favorite happens to be Chipotle Ranch Sauce but barbecue sauce also works great. Serve warm.

Tips & Suggestions:I have included step-by-step photos and directions above to ensure your first attempt will be successful.Cooking methods- Bake, air fry, grill, or cook in a non-stick frying pan. For the firmest patties, baking or air frying are recommended.Firmness- To keep black bean burgers from falling apart, make sure to mash the beans well and mix them with the oats well. Chilling the patties before cooking also helps them hold together better, but I have never needed to do that with these patties because they are firm.Storage- Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5-7 days. hey can be frozen in an airtight freezer-friendly container for approximately 3-6 months. I always bake them and then freeze them, but you could freeze them raw and then bake them when you’re ready.
