Gluten-free vegan Christmas cookies

Who would’ve ever thought delicious cookies like these could be vegan, oil-free, and gluten-free? While not all of the cookies listed at the bottom of the page are gluten-free, this shortlist is highlighted for all those avoiding gluten.

There are plenty more gluten-free cookie options in the list below. Just be sure to check each recipe listed to make sure the author of the recipe specifies specifically that theirs is free from gluten.

Thanks to all of the amazing vegan bakers out there that have graciously permitted me to share their recipes here.

Recommended kitchen equipment

Most of these cookie recipes require no fancy equipment at all but, if you’ve never done much baking, these are some items that can really be helpful.

  • Baking sheets- A variety of sizes of baking sheets is always helpful. The one most used in my kitchen is a 13″x18″ pan.
  • Non-stick supplies- We like to bake completely oil-free, so I have a stockpile of silicone baking mats and even parchment sheets that help me get the job done without a single drop of oil and make clean-up a breeze.
  • Mixer- Whether you use a stand mixer or a simple hand-held mixer, you’ll want to keep one of these available for making many of these cookie recipes and even cakes and muffins.
  • Bowls- It is my opinion that you can never have too many mixing bowls. There are always different uses for them whether whisking the dry ingredients in one and the wet ingredients in another or even just mashing bananas for sweetening.
  • Cooking Utensils- A good heat-resistant spatula set is a must. They are great for stirring and scraping.
  • Cooling racks- These heavy-duty, dishwasher-safe cooling racks will come in handy when you’re making multiple batches of cookies and need your pans to start the next batch while the other cookies cool.
