What is an Instant Pot?

An Instant Pot is a multifunctional electric pressure cooker that is one of the most popular kitchen appliances on the market right now. It can make recipes from start to finish in a fraction of the time normally required.

You can literally make everything from soups and stews to cakes and other desserts in this amazing appliance and do it much quicker and with less cleanup. It makes scrumptious vegan meals that are healthy and simple to make.

What vegan recipes can be made?

There is very little limit, that I’ve found so far, on what vegan meals can be made in an Instant Pot. Here are some that plant-based diet folks make regularly.

  • Soups & stews
  • Grains- rice, quinoa, bulgur, and more
  • Pasta dishes
  • Vegetables
  • Sauteed veggies
  • Curries
  • Beans
  • Potatoes
  • Chili
  • Sloppy Joes
  • Cake
  • Yogurt

Which Instant Pot size should I get?

There are so many makes, models, and sizes of Instant Pots available on the market right now. The most common are the 3-quart, 6-quart, and 8-quart varieties. The 6-quart is probably most popular because it is large enough to accommodate most people’s needs.

The 3-quart model is a great option for those cooking for only themselves, folks with small kitchens, and students in dorm rooms (if they are allowed).

Most of the Instant Pot recipes I’ve seen use the 6-QT model to test recipes. This makes it easier for you to make the recipe without any adjustments if you have the right size pot already.
