It’s versatile, easy to use, and great for adding a quick burst of flavor to so many dishes. You can turn it into a dip for fresh veggies or a salad dressing!

Ingredients you will need
- Oats- Oat flour helps create a smooth, creamy texture without the need for dairy. It’s a natural thickener that blends well with herbs and spices, making the seasoning perfect for dips or dressings, while also being gluten-free and adding a mild, nutty flavor. Use store-bought or make your own oat flour in minutes.
- Nutritional yeast- Adds a savory, cheesy flavor that mimics the richness of traditional ranch. If you haven’t heard of this seasoning before, we have a great post all about nutritional yeast and recipes to use it in.
- Sweetener- Use a granular sweetener like pure cane sugar, date sugar, or maple sugar.
- Seasonings- Onion powder, garlic powder, dried chives, mustard powder, parsley flakes, and dill weed are the spices you will need to make this zesty mix.
Tips & suggestions
- Dried parsley- Approximately 2 teaspoons will add a little extra bitter-herb zest.
- Spice it up- Add a dash of Sriracha seasoning to spice things up a bit!
- Substitution- Around 2 tablespoons of homemade ranch seasoning will replace 1 packet of a store-bought seasoning mix.
How to make dairy-free ranch seasoning
STEP #1: Use store-bought oat flour if you have some on hand or make your own. I always make oat flour in my blender because it is easy and much less expensive.
To make your own, blend dry oats, in a seasoning blender or with a mortar and pestle, into smooth oat flour.
STEP #2: Combine all seasoning ingredients together in a glass jar, or any container with a good seal will do, and shake the mixture well to combine.
STEP #3: Use it to make dairy-free ranch dip, or vegan ranch salad dressing, or sprinkle it over baked potatoes and steamed veggies. I have included some of my favorite ways to use it below.
